Status: Single

Employed or Retired: Employed

Where did you live previously: Grew up in Western Canada (BC and Alberta)

What part of town do you live in: Los Sauces (near Costco)

Why did you decide to move to Vallarta: A long time friend said I would love it! I had never been to Mexico before but I sold almost everything I owned, bought a one-way ticket, and crossed my fingers! I LOVE IT here in PV!

What were the main reason(s) you moved here: Weather, lifestyle change

What are the top (3) things you have learned that you think might help someone moving to Vallarta now:

  1. Don’t be in a hurry for ANYTHING….learn to relax and be patient. Things don’t happen quickly here like at home but there is so much less stress 🙂
  2. You’ll probably find that clothing, electronics and groceries are more expensive here than back home. Learn where to shop. I still need help in this area!
  3. The weather here is AWESOME! The only time you might need a jacket is if you are in the movie theatre. Ladies, bring dresses for the hotter months and be prepared to sweat 🙂

The weather sounds very much like S. Calif where I live. I’m planning my first visit later this year when I come back from Thailand. It sounds lovely. I would like to connect with retired people when I visit as I’m traveling solo. It sounds like there is plenty of social get togethers. Enjoyed your three points.

A retired teacher friend of mine and I are thinking of coming there as a prelude to possibly wintering there. We live in Washington stae. Can you recommend a hotel or private house that would be suitable as a base to look around? We wil probably come for 10 days. Thanks, Jim

Hi…..I am considering a move to PV. I am not married and was curious if you have found it difficult meeting people to date or for companionship? I also was curious what it is like finding work being that I am not able to retire yet.
