Jeanne Gillett

In Florida, Living in Vallarta, Member Profiles, Mismaloya & South Bay, US, Where We are From, Where We Live

Jeanne GillettStatus: Single

Employed or Retired: Retired

Where are you living now / where are you from: Tarpon Springs, FL

What part of town do you live in: Mismaloya

Timeframe for a move: January or February 2015

Where else are you considering: No where else

Why Vallarta: I have been there many times and love it. The people, the climate and the cost of living.

How can ExPats in Vallarta assist you: Still trying to figure out the immigration process. Different Mexican Consulates in US have different rules one from the other. The one in Orlando, FL is particularly stiff. If it gets too complicated, how difficult is it to leave MX with vehicle every 6 months and return a few days later?

Cars are a hassle now that the laws are tougher. We have been here 11 years and my best advise is sell your car in the states and buy one here. It cost us about $1500 to legalize a car from the states plus hotel and gas and then another hundred or so for plates in Jalisco. I have an honest translator who handles visa’s I.e. Temporada & Permante Resindente visa’s.
