In Canada, Living in Vallarta, Member Profiles, Mismaloya & South Bay

Status: Family

Employed or Retired: Employed

Where did you live previously: Canada

What part of town do you live in: Boca De Tomatlan

Why did you decide to move to Vallarta: We have lived in other parts of Mexico, but we like the mountain terrain and direct flights from Canada.

What other places did you consider: Bucarerias, Nuevo Vallarta, fluvial, Melaque.

What were the main reason(s) you moved here: Boca de Tomatlan is small yet close to city. We moved to Mexico for weather, better family quality time, better family values and culture of Mexican people.

What are the top (3) things you have learned that you think might help someone moving to Vallarta now:

Take time to check around your neighbourhood for shops, markets etc.

Always be polite, ask questions. The people are very helpful.

Make an effort to be involved in the community events and celebrations, or volunteering.

Sheri, how funny. We have a missionary friend staying in our house. She is from Edmonton, Alberta. She has just rented a two bedroom apartment in Boca where she will be taking over my English High School class up river. I see you are volunteer in the community and that means you just have to know our friend Christina Martell owner of the B & B Casa Ventana. I am bringing Laurie Purches down Thursday to her apartment. Here is her e-mail: lgpurches@gmail.com if you are interested in a kindred spirit.
