Status: Single

Employed or Retired:  Semi-retired

Where did you live previously:  Denver

When did you move to Vallarta:  8 years ago – part time

What part of town do you live in:  Hotel Zone

Why did you decide to move to Vallarta:  I began traveling to Vallarta 30 years ago. It always fascinated me and I “dreamed” to purchase a home. My Aunt and Uncle (Iva and Gale Hankel {Iva; Deceased}) moved to Vallarta permanently 20 years ago. That just made my desire to live in PV more intense. After working hard, and becoming financially able to purchase a home…that is exactly what I did. I spend about 4 to 5 months a year in Vallarta and the rest of the year in Denver and traveling.

What other places did you consider:  I have traveled all over the US and parts of Canada. Owned homes in Hawaii and Florida, but Vallarta is truely my love.

What were the main reason(s) you moved here:  Family, Friends and Weather
What are the top (3) things you have learned that you think might help someone moving to Vallarta now?

  • Don’t be afraid to experience the “real Mexican people”
  • Learn about more areas than the one you “visit”
  • Meet as many people as you can…they are wonderful down here!

    Hi,

I love PV and am thinking about making it my home. I would like to try
it out by renting first. I would like to rent a one or two bedroom condo
for 3 months in Jan. ,Feb., and March 2015. I have two very small dogs
so I need help finding a place that will rent to dogs.

Any suggestions? Also, I’m wondering about the pros and cons of living
in the Marina area vs the downtown area.

Thank you for any advice you can give me. Rita
