Fred & Sonja Conta

Employed or Retired: I am employed part-time as CFO & Property Mgr. for a small consulting firm which owns an office building, but I expect to retire soon. Sonja is a retired registered nurse.

Where did you live previously: We still live in Tiburon, CA, just across the Golden Gate Bridge from San Francisco.

When did you move to Vallarta: We have been vacationing in Puerto Vallarta for the past 15 years and, since we bought our condo in 2009, we have been enjoying it for 5 or 6 months annually.

What part of town do you live in: Col. 5 de diciembre, at the top of the hill overlooking Teatro Vallarta and Ley’s Supermercado.

Why did you decide to move to Vallarta: We love Puerto Vallarta for its location only 3-1/2 hrs from San Francisco, its people, its weather, and it’s a real city with a long history – not just a tourist resort.

What other places did you consider: none.

What were the main reason(s) you moved here: the wonderful weather during late fall and winter when it is cold & rainy in San Francisco, great restaurants, wide variety of fun activities including great theater.

What are the top (3) things you have learned that you think might help someone moving to Vallarta now:  Great weather, relatively low prices, good affordable healthcare, and the availability of shopping resources everyone enjoys in the U.S. like Costco, Home Depot, Office Depot, Walmart, etc.
